Truly a lovely place to stay - wonderful B&B in Oak Park, IL. Every detail has been attended too down to fresh flowers thru out the home and chocolate coverage almonds in foyer. Did I mention the cocktail that one may have has you enjoy all the reading material that is in the library. There were chocolate cover raisins, cashews as well as salty pretzel sticks in our room along with a litter of cool water. Staying in the Tartan suite was very enjoyable, this particular suite is spacious. Breakfast each morning was very delicious. Each morning included coffee/tea, juice, fresh fruits, main breakfast followed by a piece of heavy cake. With this meal one can wait to have a late lunch and then call it a day. Home sits in an area of fine homes and is walking distance to Frank Lloyd Wright Studio. Just taking a evening stroll was nice. Parking off street, right beside the home.

Excellent place to stay in Oak Park. Convenient to all of the Frank Lloyd Wright & Hemingway sites. Beds were comfy and breakfast very nice--just enough to get you through to your next amazing meal. We didn't meet Charles, but Sam was a great host, explaining the history of this beautiful house and all its lovely rooms. Thanks to Donna too for greeting us! We would definitely return.

Chuck and Sam know how to run a classy B&B! Their house is close to the Frank Lloyd Wright district and is nestled within residential Oak Park. They were so hospitable and treated us as their special guests. The room was elegant, they offered us wine before bed, had snacks, fresh flowers and chocolates in our room. Breakfast in the morning was so delicious - yogurt parfait, fresh squeezed orange juice, berry waffles with almonds and whipped cream and freshly made scones. We spent the morning sitting in the garden reading and shared many stories with Sam. They are very knowledgeable of the area and will provide recommendations for just about anything. I highly recommend staying here and can't wait to come back!

We held our 25th wedding anniversary celebration at Bishops Hall and also had family stay there. On all counts the experience was wonderful! Chuck and Sam are gracious and welcoming. The house is gorgeous and so perfect for gathering friends for a party. The food was very good and in generous amounts and the attention to detail made the event very special for us. The guestrooms are well appointed and the breakfasts are tasty and elegant. We hope to have another opportunity to have an event or have guests stay at Bishops Hall.

This b&b is beyond comparison! The whole house has been designed as an English manor house but is anything but stuffy. Fresh, bright and run by a friendly, delightful couple Sam and Chuck, who genuinely want you to have a wonderful experience. From the super comfortable bed, including luxurious down bedding to the classical music piped throughout the home and the french crystal chandeliers , staying here was truly magical. Homemade quiche and scones for bfast, frango mints bedside ... no detail has been overlooked. A must stay if you're visiting oak park!

Sam and Chuck are excellent hosts. They make sure everyone feels at home and take a genuine interest in their guests. The house is beautiful with great attention to detail. The Blue and Coral room is very spacious with an immaculate master bath with a rain bar, steam shower and a claw foot tub. Very close to the Frank Lloyd Wright main attractions. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the Oak Park area.

Bishops Hall is absolutely the finest bed and breakfast on the planet! I say this having stayed at the Hassler in Rome, the Hotel Astoria in St. Petersburg, Le Meurice in Paris, and Claridge's in London. I am not a snob---I've just been fortunate enough to travel around a lot and stay at some amazing places along the way. Chuck and Sam are incredible hosts who attend to one's every need--including picking guests up at the airport! I stayed in the Tartan Room as well as the Blue and Coral room. I thought the Tartan Room was out of this world---fluffy pillows, gorgeous duvet, amazingly soft bed in the cozy comfort of Scotland transported to the US. Night time snacks awaiting the guest's indulgence include chocolate-covered raisins and almonds, wonderful pretzel sticks, and because it's Chicago---Frango Mints. The Blue and Coral room boasts the most luxurious bathroom I have ever seen in a bed and breakfast including a combination shower/steam bath which is larger than those which I have seen in most clubs! The drawing room in which the master bed sits is the size of a small apartment. Not only are the lodgings fantastic, but the breakfasts are wonderful too! These guys can cook. If you're going to Chicago and plan to be anywhere near Oak Park---and why not see amazing Frank Lloyd Wright architecture while driving by the childhood home of Ernest Hemingway?----then THIS is the place to stay! I'm definitely going back!

One of the finest bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. The owners go out of their way to make one feel comfortable. One of the owners even gave me extra assistance without my asking. The rooms were spotless!

Absolutely NO detail has been overlooked at this incredible establishment. Treat yourself to an in-town vacation in this mini 'Downton'. Better yet, get a group of friends and rent all the rooms!

Sam- the innkeeper goes out of his way for you. When we asked directions to walk there, he said "Stay where you are, I'll come get you" and picked us up in his car! He even gave us a quick driving tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes and the neighborhoods. He was very happy to have all is "hens home to roost" The house is lovingly restored in every period detail and it is GORGEOUS and fancy and expensive looking. Antiques, something to look at everywhere. Paintings, furniture. It is all beyond beautiful. The bathroom was huge! The shower was luxuriant and included steam room and rain shower. And there was also a claw foot tub. I was a little afraid to touch things, in fear I might break something, but Chuck and Sam wouldn't want you to tiptoe around. They gave us extra chocolate mints and port wine in the evening and were very pleasant company. I highly recommend!
